Overall this is a really nice camera -- The articulating touchscreen is really sweet and offers some nice options for controlling and focusing this camera, and this is coming from someone that was not excited about this feature. But, the button placement in conjunction with the touchscreen is near perfect and allows for flexibility in how you control your camera -- I appreciate that! You might appreciate that more than you think too. The Q button (on screen or physical) allows quick access to changing almost all common settings, also very appreciated.

Video and photo quality is excellent -- I find ISO 3200 perfectly useable and could certainly go to 6400 in a pinch. I pulled a frame out of a video the other day and was stunned by the quality, and I feel that one could easily get a decent 4 x 6 out of 1080p resolution. On the audio side, the stereo audio is lovely and it is nice to not have to worrying about capturing audio with an external microphone or a separate device like a Zoom Recorder when you are using the silent focus STM lenses, other, non-STM lenses do still make enough noise during auto focus that the microphone captures the sound.

I have been impressed with battery life, the screen is bright and easily viewed indoors and out and that draws some power but shot life is on par with earlier rebels wiich is about 500 shots or between an hour or two of recording.

Now for the bummers -- the continuous auto focus (cAF) is a step forward but it is a small step, if your subject is moving faster than a slow walk the camera will struggle to keep it in focus. In bright light with a large depth of field you can pretty much fake it but this is not the camera to use to record high speed sports or really any sports where the subject or action is faster than toddler speed. Another bummer I have run across, and it is a nit-picky one, is the slight lag in turning the screen on. It is slight just about a second or so but occasionally I wondered if I had done something wrong. My final item for the bummer category is price -All models should be $100 less, overall I love this camera, really nice to shoot with, excellent quality but I don't quite get why they have priced it higher than previous Rebels. This might be the perfect camera for your, or maybe you can save a bit and get the Canon T3i(600D) or even save a bit more and get the Nikon D3200, I am happy to help you decide which camera is best for you.
