Mobile and wearable technology is becoming (and in some case has already become) an intrinsic part of daily life. Smartphones have become the most important computing device for most people, being incredible powerful and portable. Most day-to-day computing tasks can be achieved from your smartphone these days. And with the big tech giants getting in to the wearable and health tech device markets (with Samsung and Google making the first early strides), we are about to see a range of wearable devices and clothing that will not only integrate with our existing smartphones but will also be able to track information about our daily lives in more convenient formats for our own review, whether they come in the form of a watch, a shirt or a pair of high tech shoes. Steve and Ben examine the role of the new devices and mobile technologies in day to day life in 2014, and how their presence has the potential to transform our behaviours and habits in the years ahead, just as touchscreen modern smartphones have done in the past seven years. Steve and Ben also take a look at Apple’s September 9 Keynote and Announcements, including the iPhone 6 and the iWatch.
